Is it going to be reset again, or can I start working on it without fear of losing my progress?

Once actual game play resumes you will be good to go. The only changes from then on out will be activating the clans again (working on a few bugs in that one) and additions of weapons and stuff. So right now it's all good to go and game play should be turned on within the hour or so.
