Tauni

Well, I thought it was entertaining, so I figured I'd share it with you guys.
So my friend Steve has a red Jetta 1.8T that I have fun driving every once and awhile. Tonight, I think I have vowed to never drive it again... well maybe.
Anyways, so we are just kind of cruising around and we head down to AV McDonalds, since its the only 24 hour one in our area. On our way back I'm cruising up Cedar, which is a 65 MPH zone, and I'm doing 90. I begin to slow down a tiny bit when Steve starts freaking out yelling "Cop! Tauni, slow down!" And I see him. No lights on, clocking me. So, naturally, I slooooow down, and get to sixty-five, throw on the seat belt, and drive like a normal person should. But, as you can guess, I get pulled over exiting onto 35E. The cop comes up, and I do my usual innocent act. He says "Do you know how fast you were going?" I say no, obviously. He tells me he clocked me at 83 mph. I pretend that I had no idea, when really, I knew damn well how fast I was going. So I give him my ID and Steve's insurance and he goes back to the car. And we sit. And we wait. I think cops just like to build the suspense some times. Anyways, so he comes back, but instead of coming to my window, he goes to Steve's. He ends up telling us there is a warrant out for Steve's arrest. Ohhh boy. So he tells us that the ticket Steve "still needed to pay" was for $242. Well Steve had just paid the ticket, and even provided a receipt showing that he had paid the ticket, but the cop took him to the cop car anyways. For whatever reason it was showing that he hadn't paid it yet, so I am assuming that it just hadn't gone all the way through the system yet. Well pretty much, money had to come out up front, other wise Steve would be going to jail, and the cop wouldn't let him pay with a check. LUCKILY, I had just cashed in on a hefty little check for selling the Talon, and still had the money sitting at my house. So the cop is like, "Alright, run to your house, and bring back $242 in exact amount. Don't speed, and call if there are any problems. Then all we will need to do is fill out some paper work, and you guys will be free to go." Sounded alright to me. So I went and grabbed the money and came back. When I got back, I was pretty confident everything was going to be ok. I give him the money and just sit and wait for about 10 more minutes. Finally, Steve comes back, and so does the cop. With my FUCKING ticket! I was so pissed. I honestly thought he was going to let me go, at least by the sounds of it and the way he was talking. So basically, I damn near send my friend to jail, bail him out, and still get a ticket on top of it all.
Gotta love that AV fuzz.
