Fuel Injector Part Name

I was going to install my fuel injectors today but I went to put the insulators on(oring deal inbetween the head and injectors). When I put them on I noticed that 3 fuel injectors have a black plastic sleeve on them and one didnt. The one that doesnt have it the insulators is loose and doesnt seal. Anyways where the hell can I get one of these? The injectors are FIC 650CCs.

Re: Fuel Injector Part Name

Is the sleave on the fuel rail side? does it hold the injector tight between the rail and the head? If thats what you need I might have one laying around.

A pic might help.

Re: Fuel Injector Part Name

Are you talking about these? http://slowboyracing.com/estore/prod...at=1063&page=1 If so going with fresh ones is probably a good idea as they like to get hard and will leak. The dealer probably has them so you don't have to order.

Re: Fuel Injector Part Name

Those are the insulators I am talking about. BUT the piece that I actually needs fit inbetween those and the injectors.

Re: Fuel Injector Part Name

There is a sleave that goes inbetween the injector and that black bushing? How thick?

Re: Fuel Injector Part Name

He is talking about the little cap that is on the end of the injector. Are you sure they are FIC's? I didn't think FIC's used that style, I don't think mine did anyway. Most other style injectors do use the pintle style that has that sleeve on it, like the stockers.

Re: Fuel Injector Part Name

I was told they are FICs when I bought them(used). They are black and green and most FICs I see are the same colors.

Re: Fuel Injector Part Name

They should have FIC and a size engraved in the side if they are. Look at FIC's site, they don't show that plastic piece on the bottom either, just the metal end with an o-ring around it. Do the injectors have like 5 little holes in the bottom?

Re: Fuel Injector Part Name

My FICs came with caps, but you're not supposed to use them. They are there to make sure nothing dirties the injector while they're sitting around not in a motor.

Re: Fuel Injector Part Name

I don't think he is talking about the clear plastic caps. It sounds like he is talking about the black plastic piece that goes around the pintle on stock injectors and slides into the insulators in the head.
