Re: SE take two!

^^Are those WORKS bushings better than the aluminum ones everyone else buys? What's the difference in 'feel' like?

Re: SE take two!

I used the brass ones from Speed-Source in my DSM's & IX and have the WORKS ones in my X. They feel nearly identical, the difference is just the noise. With metal bushings you hear the clunk-clunk noise as you shift, the WORKS bushings don't add any noise over stock but are still very firm and precise. I've used and like both, mainly it will come down to personal preference.

I don't like aluminum bushings though, they tend to bind and seize in the shifter cable rings and require far more frequent lubrication. IMO, go with polyurethane or brass.

Re: SE take two!

Just a 16G, right?

Stuffing big wheels into stock compressor covers FTW (as you can see, Andrew opted against the anti-surge cover)!

To add some detail, it's a MAP EF3 w/HP WGA, ported by PPI, coated by SPC.

Re: SE take two!

Hmm, ok. FWIW the brass ones in my 1g were seized to the point of no return. But then again they had probably been in there since the scheides days of that car (~10 years old)

I'll probably go with poly ones myself then.

Andrew- No bad ass looking anti surge housing huh?

Re: SE take two!

He wanted to keep his Perrin turbo inlet pipe and go with the stock-apprearing compressor cover.

Figured it won't surge anyway because of all the ported plus bigger displacement. Also those covers are way too loud sounds like a freight train lol...Also like the wolf in sheeps clothing!

Re: SE take two!

Pretty sure I'm getting a BBXLite or EF2 (vs. FP Green) for that very reason, anti-surge cover whistling is irritating as hell during part-throttle daily-driving.

People at work complain that my car whistles at them when I drive through the underground parking ramp.

Re: SE take two!

Speaking of MAP turbos, they have an EF2 car on the dyno right now...

Re: SE take two!

TA DA!

We got this bitch running today The engine bay will look 100x better once he gets the exhaust manifold heat shield coated. I'm really liking the red theme though (valve cover, intake manifold, intake pipe, & battery tray), it's a great contrast to the silver paint.
