If I buy that thing back, I'll have more into it than I want. Plus I'll still be needing a trans. Why did you have to sell yours?!? lol
I'll probably get it from you one of these days.

Re: Short/longblock, 2g FWD transmission.
I could do what someone else may do off of craigslist that is selling a trans for "cheap" and give you one of the motors or trannies in my garage that "look" good and just say yep its 100% perfect and you can take it for $100. That is more then likely what is going to happen to you and that person will be long gone before you know that they sold you junk. There is a reason that you have not found the part for the price you are looking to spend yet and it is because good known parts that work for sure are not just selling for $100. Good luck.

We seem to be getting off of the topic of this thread. It was not to question my WANTING to spend X amount. It was to find the parts.
I never suggested anyone should sell me a running longblock or a transmission for $100. I apologize for TRYING to find a good deal.

Re: Short/longblock, 2g FWD transmission.
Ignoring the prices I would like to pay; let me know what you guys have!
I am willing to settle for a 4g63 N/A. If anyone has a 1.8L and trans. (doubtful), let me know as well.

Re: Short/longblock, 2g FWD transmission.
I have a complete stock engine that I just pulled out of my parts car, it was running perfect before the hg went and the previous owner sold it to me. I have already been offered 450 for the short block and he is even paying to ship it to Maine. I do have the head and everything just needs a head gasket with studs. Let me know if you want it but couldn't do it for 300. I would knock some off to save me from shipping so PM me.

That doesn't seem bad at all. Considering I have a guy offering to sell me an N/A 4g63 for $400 and he is out of state.
How many miles did that car have again? Was the block and head surface checked? And would you happen to still have the ECU and engine wiring harness? I'd also need the fuel pump since the Colt's wouldn't be able to keep up.

Yeah I realize this. But for my DD/winter beater Colt it would be a tad over-kill.

Hate to rain on your parade here, but you will be in for a huge surprise if you get a 1.8l trans and try to put it in your 2G.
The transmission from the 4g37 1.8 will work fine, you will have to custom fab front and rear motormounts from your block because there are none on the trans.
-And-
The trans from the 4g93 1.8l has all 3 mounts, but is a much smaller bellhousing, it might work for you if you found the right combo for flywheel/clutch.
TLDR; DONT BUY A 1.8 TRANS

Re: Short/longblock, 2g FWD transmission.
I do still have the ecu, engine harness, and pump hanger but I don't think the fuel level sender worked but still ran perfect. PM me your number and we can work something out.

Re: Short/longblock, 2g FWD transmission.
You need a 1g harness patch harness and ecu. From what I've read and have been told.
You might wanna research what you actually need so you don't spend money on stuff you can't use.

From what I have read, you need the same year ECU as engine. So if I get a 2g engine, I'll need a 2g ECU. Plus with the '95 cam sensor I'll need the engine harness to make it all work. I have a friend with a 1g engine harness too if I need it.

Re: Short/longblock, 2g FWD transmission.
It not that it's how you patch it in the dash harness. I guess I could be wrong but heard using 2g stuff is alot harder

Re: Short/longblock, 2g FWD transmission.
Use a 1g harness and ecu in the colt. 2g stuff is a pain. I have done a few swaps alway use 1g stuff.
