^They have a weird offset in link where it reads a few points off and I don't like that you can't recalibrate it, so what do u do when you replace the sensor?

I must say getting back outside and surfing the forums a bit has awaken the bug in me again, just a little.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.

Innovate has had the wideband since the 10th, called them on thursday 16th and they said they hadn't gotten to it yet because of some trade show.

I told them to call me once they figure out the issue. If its a bad unit I might tell them to keep it and I'll try something else.

Not much else to update, I hate this cold even with my heater running it didn't seem that nice out.

I will be pulling out my alpine headunit this week, but thats about it.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.

Called Innovate yesterday, they are having problems replicating my issue with the wideband but said they would get it out by the end of this week, I told them to call me first and they questioned why.

I explained that this is my 2nd wideband and that this damn issue screwed me over, so hopefully I get a call before they send me a shitty product again.
Research has shown that this is not uncommon, but as a highly popular wideband I can see them having some issues.

I pulled the deck out of the car and apart from that haven't touched it, I got to drive around another AT 1G that is similarly setup and it gave me the bug a little bit more, but also made me realize again the 16G might be a pain on a DD car for my taste. But I will get some miles on before I go buying anything or considering anything.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.

Got a call from Innovate today and bad news is that they couldn't replicate the problem I was having.

Good news is I am getting a brand spanking new LC1, I honestly think I'm going to get rid of it and get something else probably another NGK AFX because as far as I know its the only other programmable WB on the market, so unless anyone else has suggestions that will be what I purchase sometime down the road.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.

I guess I don't know that much about widebands, what is the benefit of a programmable wideband to say an AEM UEGO? What is it that you program?

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.

I should of not used the word programmable, but rather calibrate.

I don't see how a wideband can stay in calibration throughout its use and then how can it be calibrated when you replace a sensor?

With that said, my old NGK was usually dead nuts on with the WB at LSE, and if i remember correctly damn close with MAP's WB, I think most times I said F the WB at MAP because I was that confident with my NGK.

Ah, I see. I know the AEM claims they do not need to be calibrated, cause they are self calibrated or something like that.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.

The AEM widebands use the same old Bosch sensor, but they use a different connector with a resistor specific to each individual sensor to calibrate it. So they pretty much come pre calibrated from AEM versus you having to do a calibration yourself in the fresh air when you put in a new sensor. The NGK box is nice though because it is pretty much based on the AFM1000 unit and is easy to use higher quality wideband sensors than the cheap failure prone lead hating Bosch units.

I think you should buy a 6262 and then sell it to me cheap when you deside to go back to a 16g.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.

So......
I couldn't find this the other night when I wanted to update it, but here is a quick update w/o pics.

Since last time I have gotten rid of that POS Innovate LC1 wideband, pulled out my center diff. to have it welded and sent out both TCUs, one was ruined by a local and I am having ECMlink swap the socket and chip over to my TCU that was in teh car (yes I'm lucky).

I also have a filter and shift kit for the transmission, so with all these things I should be good to go as far as the transmission goes for this year.

I still need to fix axle seals in the trans, put in a used T-case (mine was getting noisy), fix oil pan leak and turbo return line leak, swap in 4-bolt rear end, and buy a wideband.

There is basically lots of little crap to do to get it running again and I'm currently on day 10 of a 18 day work streak so time isn't really there but I'm trying to make it happen.

After more research, my goal at MAPs proving grounds if I get a FMIC is to run a 12.0

My personal goal is to beat my 11.7 from 2008 and maybe if money is good beat my 120 trap from then too.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.

No word from Jack's yet, which is disappointing.
They received the diff. on tuesday from UPS, ECMlink however has received my TCU's swapped the socket and its already on its way back.

They have awesome customer service, i received an email notification every step of the way.

I'm hoping to be running by next friday night/saturday. IF anyone is bored or wants to work on a car or drink while I work on the car this weekend let me know.
