90 tranny in a gvr4

i have an opportunity to get an apparently healthy 90 tranny. I would be putting it in a gvr4. I havent found any to the point posts on compatability. So is there anything i would have to do to swap a 90 tranny into a galant vr4?
thanks!

It should bolt right up. Possibly swap the shift linkage on the tranny, but that is easy.

shift linkage as in shifter cables bracket? the intermediate piece inbetween the tranny and the cables? I believe i have one, we'll have to see.

What about your car jet? I had to leave early from RF.

Re: 90 tranny in a gvr4

Yeah the bracket on the '90 tranny will not work with your GVR4... Well, actually I should say that the '90 GVR4 bracket is different, and did not work with my Talon when I put a '90 GVR4 tranny in my Talon. I ended up having to use the old Talon bracket and then it was all good. I can only assume that the T/E/L bracket won't work or only works a bit with the GVR4. Good luck.

you mean 91 gvr4? there were no USDM '90 gvr4's

Lets get this established, if im wrong please correct me. There are two shift brackets for dsms and galants. 90 brackets, which are "slanted". and 91-94 brackets which are "square" Right now im running a 90 tranny with a 91-94 bracket(square). So i should be running the slanted one?

Ugh, typo.... Just use the bracket off of your original GVR4 tranny.
