yep....I used to make them and didn't have problems when I did. You might as well just buy a cheap ebay one if you cant figure it out.

Re: Ok How To Make A Data Logger Cable

if you do a search on yahoo or something you will find the instructions. but you need a resistor dont remeber wich one, a diode, and a cable that attaches to the datalogger besides the obvious solder and soldering iorn

Re: Ok How To Make A Data Logger Cable

I will have to look around and see if I can find a cable. I wasn't too hard to make but I cant remember exactly how I did it. I made it for a laptop though. I am not sure if the palm one would be different.

Re: Ok How To Make A Data Logger Cable

If the diagram was for a palm, and depending where you put the diode(what diode did you use anyway?) switching pins 2 and 3 might not work.

Re: Ok How To Make A Data Logger Cable

Switching pins 2 and 3 is all you ever have to do when going from a PC to a Palm. Some palms may not work, so make sure you have a compatible model. Likewise, some laptops (older I think) have really picky serial ports and they won't pick up the signal. Since you are making a passive cable, this 'may' be a problem. If you still can't figure it out, contact me and I can ship you one for like $16. LMK, Jeff.
