Redneckin raydo

Since I can never be fast and I didn't want a mini van or SUV; I got me a truck.

2009 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ to be exact. I like the GMC sierra fronts better but I have some mods already on the way for this thing. I ordered a Dr.Colorchip kit because the front end is "salted" with rock chips. I can't say peppered because it's black. Black is the greatest color for a man's vehicle but it's also the crappiest to maintain. Oh well, I love it and the black leather package it has. It also came pre-tinted from the previous owners and it's dark!

Purchased Mods:
Newer style paint match grill(OEM)
OEM running boards(chrome)

Currently the running boards on there are "DeezNutz". They are actually DeeZee and they already have surface rust on them. This is why you buy OEM stuff.

Future mods? I'd like to get the rear bumper paint matched so there is less chrome on this thing. I'd love a 5" lift on this thing with bigger tires and wheels but then I wouldn't be able to park in the ramp, so this probably wouldn't happen. What will happen is a 2" leveling kit for the front. The dealer sticker also has to get removed on the rear tailgate.

Nobody cares what I have to say so here are some quick edits and I have no idea how to get it to resize.

She is a blast to drive and country never sounded so good! HAHA

Very nice! 5.3L? I like the black bowtie too. Welcome to Chevy Style

Now get yourself a Diablo handheld tuner ordered up and pay a visit to DiabLew for a custom tune: http://www.diablewtune.com/

Re: Redneckin raydo

5.3?
Leather interior?

Looks pretty nice. Pretty jealous I would love to have a newer truck. Still rocking the danger ranger.

Future mod undercoat the rear wheel wells so it don't rust. Trucks rust really bad in the rear wheel wells.

Re: Redneckin raydo

It is a 5.3 with AFM/DOD. I will have to monitor my oil to make sure it isn't burning a ton. That issue is blown out of proportion. A tune would be nice to give it a little more pep but it moves pretty good.

Protection for the wheel wells is going to happen. Apparently there is a TSB to help prevent this with some grease but it has a revision or metal in the wheel wells than the 07-08.

It has leather interior and the center console with wood trim. I have a pic of it.

Agreed that it is blown way out of proportion. I always let it kick down into V4 operation while cruising along with the cruise control set on the highway and I've seen zero oil consumption even when running a full oil drain interval of 7-8k miles. Some people insist on disabling it though; to each their own, but if I can save a few dollars on gas I'm going to.

Looked up the diablew tunes and some results; doesn't seem like it's worth the money. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topi...o-results-53l/

Kind of disappointing numbers but I'm not hauling all the time or racing the thing.

Canned tunes always suck, but that's why you get a custom remote tune from Lew.

Crappy interior shot cause i wasn't using the right lens and apparently didn't focus on the right thing here. Whatever.

Needs bigger pics!! haha nice truck! Dont lift it.... thats for truck ricers. lol

Buy a couple cans of this and spray your fender areas, door holes at the bottom, hitch, and anyplace else you dont want it to rust.

I can see those axle seals leaking from here!

Looks good. Agreed on black being the best (and the worst).

How many miles does this truck have?

Re: Redneckin raydo

Put on a new grill, leveling kit and my CH plates(I don't know why I'm so excited for these but they look great)! I still need to install my black z71 stickers as well. I did do the dr. colorchip on the front and honestly, yes it works. Will you still see the chips? depends on how much time you spend on it. I didn't do before and after cause my ol' man helped me and now it's too cold to do it.

Beautiful beast Pat! I would go with Carl at CJ tunes from Lancer Service in St Paul. Rents our Dyno all the time for LS tuning with amazing results. Would just need HP Protuners which, is about the same cost as most tuners.

Awesome pictures and that new grill made a big difference looking back at your first post.
