Re: Project Lex

Must have been like that since I bought it, I don't think I ever touched the upper pan before.

Anyhow, for now I got the upper pan off. Got the pan and block surfaces cleaned up with a razor to get the old RTV off. Need to find a -10 fitting so I can have it welded to the pan. That way I never have to worry about that leaking. So if anyone has a -10 fitting, holla!

Also got the pain in the ass crank pully off. Damn thing is cracked. So looks like I need a new one. Heard the Titan one is pretty good so might just pick up one of those.

I have the Titan pulley and it is really nice. It is $339 bucks though.

Re: Project Lex

I was really impressed with the ATI Super Damper, but they are pretty expensive. The titan one looks nearly identical.

Re: Project Lex

The Titan is supposedly just a rebranded ATI. Titan one is on order.

Re: Project Lex

Dropped the head off. It will be getting a 3 angle valve job while it's there as well. Hopefully it'll be done by early next week.

Also dropped off the upper oil pan at MAP, they'll be welding a -10AN fitting for the turbo oil drain so I'll never have to worry about it leaking.

Re: Project Lex

Got the upper pan back from MAP. They cleaned it up in the hot tank, and welded on a -10AN for the turbo oil return. Thanks for the quick turnaround guys!

Installed the upper oil pan with some RTV. Ace had perfect replacement bolts for my mysterious missing ones! Upper pan bolts all torqued to 6.5ft-lbs. Also got the lower pan on as well. Nice to be doing some reassembly rather than disassembly

Mo mentioned this in the shoutbox (posting in the forum is forbidden where he comes from) but did you remember to install the oil pickup tube? It's not on in those pics!
