Spyder in the making
Some of you may remember seeing this car for sale a few years back.
Stock 7 bolt with a few bolt ons.
Well I picked it up as my first car. First thing I did was remove those JDM tail lights.
Next was remove the vinyls.
1 year later, transmission case cracked . The engine was smoking also(bad rings). It was time for a rebuild.

Re: Spyder in the making
So..... Does the other muffler just sit there or did someone actually connect it up to the exhaust?

Re: Spyder in the making
I like the Talon looking front bumper. Also, I assume the BOV tube was unhooked temporarily while the pic was taken? Good luck getting everything fixed.
Agreed that while you're getting a new tranny might as well do the AWD swap.
EDIT: just saw the new motor, looks nice. That FP exhaust stud kit is really nice, I got the same thing recently.

Re: Spyder in the making
Wow, that engine looks really clean now. How much was the valve spring compressor?
Looks like Fun!

Did you have to run spacers to clear the brembos?

Stage 4 Competition Clutch 6 puck
Jay's Racing alternator relocation kit and brand new modified 6 bolt timing cover.
How the 6 bolt is sitting right now.
Pheww, that took a while. Didn't want you guys to sit around and see no pictures. Just wanted to get this thread going before typing anything else.

Yeah, I remembered him telling me he went there. His dad was the mayor of Shoreview or something if I could remember. I'm guessing that's how he had the fundings for the body work.

, it connects. 2.5" to 2.75" apexi downpipe to 2.75" dual fart magnaflow's.

It's a Kamanari bumper. It does look like the talon bumper but it really sticks out. I won't be rocking it as I have the 2GB front. The unhook BOV tube was the ricer days of me. Yes I do know about the venting in the atmosphere. Thanks for the luck, I'm hoping this year it starts up. It was hard finding an AWD transmission and I was waiting for a 2g transmission to come up. Found a FWD locally and bought it.

I picked it up from a guy who had it hot tanked and cleaned up already so I didn't have to go through all of that work. The valve spring compressor was around 60-70 dollars. If you want the exact price, I'll look it up. It works very well and is probably the best bang for the buck tool that I've bought for this motor.

The talon wheels to my suprise cleared the Brembo's without spacers. I have a set of GSX wheels and they did not clear the Brembo's. I installed the Brembo's with the 18's that originally came with the car. It needed spacers and extended wheel studs to clear. There was a big difference in stopping between the Brembo's and single piston calipers.

I'm trying the best I can to derice it. Once it's up and running, that's the new project. I like your wheels BTW . I hope to own a set myself.

Haha, thanks. It's one of those things I thought I'd never have, along with the car itself. 16 pound wheels makes taking them off and putting them back on suck less.

They are sanded down that's why it looks weird. I have 3 of them painted. Just need to paint 1 more but not in this weather. They are getting harder to find in good condition. Restoring the damage ones are the best I can do for now.

The project looks nice so far! You'll love that clutch. I have the same one in my 1g, and it's fantastic.

I'm glad I went with this clutch kit. I've heard nothing but good reviews on this clutch kit. I was planning to go with the Fidanza 4.3 but I've seen a few bad pictures of it after taking a beating. How many miles do you have on yours?
