Re: big brakes~

Are the 2g brakes bigger then 1g's? if I upgraded the 1g calipers, do I need to swap the rotors too?

Re: big brakes~

2g AWD and NT 1g 3/S's are the bigger brakes, you need the brackets too.

Re: big brakes~

but if I just found some 1g dual piston calipers, i'd be fine? If I converted everything from a 2g awd, like brackets, and calipers, I'd need aftermarket 2g rotors, and SS brake lines?

Re: big brakes~

I converted my 1G to 2g 2 pistons. I used the 2 piston calipers, caliper brackets and 2g rotors. The lines are not necessary. Your stock ones will work fine.

Re: big brakes~

Aren't 1G AWD big-brakes (92.5-94) the same size as 2G AWD brakes?

Re: big brakes~

Yes, the kracka is right. So, you want better braking but don't want bigger rotors?

Re: big brakes~

You just need the calipers, brackets and bigger rotors.

Re: big brakes~

For the 2 piston calipers you need the bigger rotors as well.

But just for reference. I did a track day at Brainard with my 1 piston calipers, good Brembo cross drilled rotors front/rear, good fluid(Motul), and good pads(Hawk something crazy..), and stock lines. It was great at the track, it did fade a couple times, but very manageable.

However, I now have the 2 piston calipers(SS lines up front) and with some average pads, it already feels better(with Brembo slotted rotors and basic dot4 for now). I have to get some special fittings to get the rear SS lines to fit. I would highly recommend those to everyone.
