Re: Timing belt rubbing on kiggly trigger
ok so first things first i was unsure of the front case being oe or aftermarket so i am no help there. saying that I tried both triggers and neither one cleared the sensor. how i tested was to put the trigger on and held by hand pressure and rotated the crank around observing clearance. the "top" plate in the kit was closer as both hit on the engine side. out of ideas I put the crank sprocket on and tightened with an impact, and that did the trick as it squished the trigger out.
Part two was when I put the timing belt on it rubbed on the ends of the plate. I could feel maybe a few burs in the plate so i did some light filing. still tubing though. I started thinking of why and thats when I remembered how i got here in the first place, and that was the impact, so I used the impact to loosen the bolt and torqued to 90ftlbs and yup bothe the trigger and the belt clear. so yes moral of the story is this has been my fault the whole time for not following torque spec, and for not thinking i needed to torque the crank sprocket on. The problem was me lol.
btw kevin did call me back on the first issue and said thats what he was going to suggest and also said it is rare, but maybe in a rare occasion he would need to give up a third plate. I highly recommend all of their products and what they stand for, and it is a real treat for the way they care for their customers. I have sat on the phone with him for long periods of time soaking in information that i've never seen or read anywhere.
