Warm Startup Issues in the Gaylant

1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4
156K miles

Mods:
EGR removal
Removed all solenoids related to emissions and bypassed fuel pressure solenoid(the one that would be on the firewall by the AC fusebox on a 1G, I have the vac line going straight from the Intake Manifold to the FPR)

I am finding that if I use the car when it is warm out to run errands I have problems starting it up after a few stops. One of two things happens: The car will just crank and not start at all, fuel pump primes, getting spark and getting air, just doesn't start; If it doesn't do this, it will start idle around 500rpm and shut down if I don't do anything, if I put the gas pedal to the floor it will keep idling around there(barely) and in about 20 seconds of keeping the throttle wide open it will finally pull itself out of that shitty idle and rev up like normal. After either of these happen and go away, the car runs just like normal.

Any ideas? FPR? Fuel Pump? Any thing else?

Thanks so much in advance!!

Re: Warm Startup Issues in the Gaylant

I would first check your ECU and replace the caps if not done so already. Starting issues like that happend to me about a year ago and I replaced the ECU because mine was so fried from the caps leaking that it couldnt be fixed.

Otherwise, maybe check your timing.

Check your ICS steppers motor/solonoid. Its right by the FIAV.
Mine is removed, and does the same thing (acts as a non-functioning ICS/FIAV setup).

Eric fixed the caps and such shortly after I bought the car. He had said there was no damage to the board, hopefully there still isn't.

I'll check that when I am out there later tonight, thanks.
