Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!

The bose speakers in my dad's 06 vette seem decent. Not amazing but above average for a stock speaker. That's a bummer they cheap out there on a 55k+ car.

Bose seems like the Fram of speakers now a days. Made a name for themselves awhile back, and just riding that brand names wave while now manufacturing crap.

C6 stereo is quite a bit nicer sounding than the C7's. The Volt Premium's Bose is actually pretty decent.

HA! If anything, Fram is superior quality to Bose! The only Fram product that really sucks is their low-end ExtraGuard oil filter.

lmao. The Bose in my 06 is mid 90s sounding, no bass at all, really tinny trebble. My 04 Audi A4 with Bose was nicer by far. C7 should be great.. my 2010 Terrain has the Pioneer stock system and it sounds great.

I too am happy with the Terrain's optional Pioneer system.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!

Things not to do when parking at a hotel in Houston:
-run into concrete parking curb

Long story short, I misjudged how far to pull in and heard a nice CRUNCH/SCRAPE! I got out of the car and freaked out a bit...

After see that in the hotel parking lot I thought for sure the paint and splitter was ruined, cracked plastic, etc.

After doing some clean-up work and close inspection, turns out it's not so bad after all, luckily! No cracks in the plastic, just in the paint. I unbolted the splitter and adjusted it the best I could so it was flush after getting tweaked (it's held on with a combination of bolts and rivets). None of the fasteners were damaged and I didn't see any damage to the plastic splitter, again, only the cracked/scuffed paint.

Nevermind all the bugs on the bumper, after the drive to Houston and back the only cleaning I've done so far has been to the splitter. For now, I think I'm just going to leave well enough alone since it's bound to happen again with how low the car rides. Before drilling out the rivets to have it refinished I'll wait until the paint gets more damaged, starts chipping or flaking off, or gets smashed into a curb even worse.

Not bad, hardly noticeable after you cleaned it up!

I feel like that is a corvette staple, scraping things and hitting the splitter. I know that is a step up from previous corvettes but it was almost impossible not to scrape the front in my dads c6, but I think that was just the undertray deal.

The rubber air dams in front of the front tires scrape on damn near everything, including my relatively flat driveway apron. Those pieces are very flexible though and are even mentioned in the owners manual and being designed to flex and take an impact from the expected frequent contact. A little swipe with tire shine and they still look good as new, for the most part.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!

The factory stereo in my C6 is absolute junk. I ended up buying some decent 6.5 components and made adapter plates for them. But then again, the Bose system in my Tahoe sounds fantastic, so they do some of them right.
