how many bolts (flywheel) does the evo 8 motor have?
could you install a evo3 exahust manifold and put mitsu style turbos on?

I'm not sure about the flywheel, but why would you want to put an evo3 mani and old mitsu turbos on an evo8? The evo8's twin scroll mani and turbine housing are a superior design.

hold your horses and fully utilize the current turbo on that car, upgrade other components and THEN go up in turbo size..

Also ,the compressor and turbine housings are reversed on the evo8 turbo.Meaning the intake is on the drivers side.

Those stock turbos can make a LOT of power. By the time you are even close to maxing it out there will be plenty of aftermarket available.

I belive the EVO has an 8-bolt flywheel pattern.

First off, who cares how many bolts the flywheel has. More or less bolts don't mean anything. The reason 2G 7-bolt motors crankwalk isn't because there is an extra bolt on the flywheel. The 1G 7-bolt motor very rarely crankwalk.
There are turbo and manifold upgrades for the EVO 8. There are guys out there running big turbos with different manifolds and there are also ones that bolt onto the stock manifold.

The 6G72 has an 8-bolt flywheel and 4-bolt mains, and it's a damn good engine. The number of bolts don't mean anything.

The Evo 8 motor is a 4g63. Its just a mirror image of our motors. The turbo is good up to 400+.

yes someone makes a bolt on turbo for evo8's. I forgot the site but if you really want to know it, i can find it for you again. But the thing is like 2 grand or something. Also there are many companies who make turbo kits for those cars like HKS, Greddy, RnR, Buschur, and many more. Right now the fastest EVO8 is one that was completely built by RnR. His kits are prolly one of the cheapest priced ones there are. But if you want just a bolt on turbo kinda like the PTE's for DSM's that just bolt up, then yes there is one company out there who makes them but they charge up the ass. BTW, why are you asking? Do you own an EVO?
