Re: My Talon
Deleted power steering because the bolts broke! (grrrrr)
Removed Windo washer bottle
I got a new windshield! (it has been severely cracked since owning, and made my car look super ghetto)
New black housing headlights (BEST MOD TO DATE)
Tinted rear brake lights and third brake light (Thanks Kevin!)
Pics asap.

Re: My Talon
Saw the car last night, very clean and liked the headlights! Nice to finally get a face to the name as I am a very forgetful person with names.

The car looks nice. Is that a Pontiac GTO in the garage?

Thanks! It's really starting to actually look nice in my eyes.
Yes, that is a GTO! It's a 1970 GTO base model, 400 with a 3 speed auto on the floor. My mom bought it brand new It has girl options like: vanity mirror, rear speaker, etc lol. We have all documents for it, like the window sticker, mainteance stuff records, and it sits in our garage. It has a small transmission leak, hence why it isn't driven. Well, I drove it three times in the last 8 years just around the block about 2 months ago.

Re: My Talon
I deleted cruise control today with a shiney brand new non-turbo non-cruise throttle cable. I have to say this is one of the most suprising mods I have done. The car feels sooo much more responsive, and the pedal just seems more sensative, and reactive. I guess 16 year old cables might stretch a little, plus that stupid linkage the cruise uses probably doesn't help crisp response. So a combo of brand new cable and no linkage has surprisingly made the car feel a heck of a lot better to drive!! I was surprised!

Re: My Talon
You don't have to actually buy the non cruise cable. You can still use your stock one for the CC. I will show you guys at the cookout if you want. All you do is have to make your own little bracket.

Re: My Talon
I got the cable right from brookdale, they stock it now Also, I'd say my favorite mods to date:
Black housing headlights: Car just looks SO much nicer, newer, cleaner.
NON-Cruise cable: Better/crisper throttle response!
Kpsorts: Lowered 1Gs are hott, as is adjustability.
Shep tranny: Actually being able to ship at redline haha.
And yes, Swifty you beat me by a couple of days for the headlights!
Winter goals:
20G/Tial 38mm
DSMLINK
1000cc
FP Manifold
Ceramic coat manifold, exhaust housing, and o2
Convert ebay dumped o2 for tial 38

Re: My Talon
perhaps notchy is a bad word...more-so it feels sturdy, and SOLID.
And by a few days? I had them installed on my car back in january..the car just wasn't out driving yet, since the manifolds where all pulled off of it, and I still had the A1's to install.

Re: My Talon
I just have to pull the axels and a crossmember, and then I can remove the engine and tranny.
Why am I doing this? Kinda just for fun, and to clean and repaint the engine bay!!
I am also gonna address as much little stuff as possible.
I will probably hack up my bumper to improve airflow to the radiator, and make an airtight airbox for my air filter, as well as some sort of air scoop for my air box.

Re: My Talon
I will see if I can find a pic of my old black 1g. Depending how you routed your FMIC, you can put the air filter right in the front bumper. I made short route piping (cut a hole near radiator) and cut the inside of the engine bay near where the filter was. I then manuvered piping down into the fenderwell and had my filter right in the bumper. I didn't make an airtight box or anything but it worked well. I am not sure if I showed it to you back in the day...
My chances of actually finding a pic are 5% though.
On a side note, I didn't notice any difference personally when I got rid of cruise control, PS, or AC.

I eliminated them to clean up the engine bay, not to gain anything
Also, I used to run a "Buschur Cold Air Intake" that put a cone filter right in front of the tire. Sucking up water a few times made me decide thats a bad idea. The filter itself is staying in the stock location, But I want it to get fresh cold air so an air box is needed. I will enlarge the stock sidemount intercooler piping hole, and by that I mean get the sawzall out. I'm gonna probably run 4" or 5" dryer duct from the bumper cover to the air box.
I will post pics as I go!
Engine and tranny are sitting on a pallet infront of my car
