tdo5 turbo size

OK I know this question has been asked before but I have a tdo5 turbo I know its a 16g but what size 16g is it...? How do you tell if its a small or big 16g?

TD05 is the part number for the middle section and turbine side of the turbo. To which a bunch of different compressors can be attached to. Stock 14b is a TD05 also, all the way up to a 20g is common on a TD05... The only way to tell a small 16g compressor from a big 16g compressor is to see if the wheel has uneven blade heights.(I forgot the Technical term). A small 16g looks like the 14b where all the fins look the same, a B16g has alternating fins. An evo III 16g is a B16g compressor with better exhaust housing and O2 housing.

Actually i believe you are wrong there sir. A small 16g has uneven blades. The 14b is the only td05 that has the even blades.

the compresor housing has this on its 9810141004917805200Witch I was told the 5200 is a small 16gIt has a stamp on the compresor and turbo housings that say TRE does that mean the turbo I have was upgraded by TRE?</p></p>

The problem you can run into with this "Number" idea is it turbo can be bored out. You could end up doing what i did, running the number on a turbo for sale in need of a rebuild. Buy the turbo and the wheel at the same time. Wheel comes in and you go to put it on the turbo.... and you can fit your finger along the side of the comp housing and turbine fins.

Best way i've found is to remove the top cover and measure the inducer and exducer diameter if you can.
