GTR catches fire at the dragon over the weekend.

So this weekend there was an event at "tail of the dragon" I was going to go to it. But have a wedding next weekend then I'm off for the next 2 after that for thanksgiving. So I couldn't take off 4 weekends in a row.
Anyrate I'm posting this because the cause of the fire might be an issue in design for anyone owning one.
Originally people thought it was the charcoal canister as that's been known to cause fires on occasion. But as it turns out. This owner had been noticing along with other people at the event that his car was getting leaves in random places.
As it turns out a biker following him around the dragon stopped him to tell him something was smoking from the back of his car. It happened to be leaves from the road were catching in his brake ducts as he drove. And eventually caught fire and burnt his car to the ground.

I realize you all have snow up there now. But if you like scenic fall drives might be something to be aware of.

Holy cow. Thanks for sharing this. That road has been on my "must drive someday" list for quite a while.

Anytime we want to do a dsmstyle.com run.. I'm down.

I never though fall driving could potentially lead to a fire. But I guess with lowered cars and designs to direct air at brake ducts. It's possible.
