Re: jacks transmissions opinions

If I were to get a built Mitsu tranny it would either be from Jack's or Hayes. I personally think Hayes has the best attention to the detail needed for the smoothest shifts possible, but Jack's would be the Evo X GSR transmission expert.

I've never been impressed with Shep's transmissions, and Jon @ TRE is just too damn hard to do business with. I loved the BM Tranny (now TurboTrix) in my 1G.

Re: jacks transmissions opinions

I buy parts from him all the time. He's a super nice guy with tons of info and is willing to help out. Only issue I had with him was when I was trying to find things in a rush, it would take him a couple days to respond to emails. Other than that everything he's done has made me go right back to Jack's.

As long as you go with any of these mainstream companies you should be fine. Everyone will have their own opinions of each of them based on their personal experience. Just pick which one that stands out to you.

Re: jacks transmissions opinions

I find jacks has poor support for the dam guys these days and have waited weeks for replies. I have to give a big shootout to tim zimmer @tmz. Awesome guy who will answer the phone even on the road. He responds fast, genuinely cares, ships fast and will answer any multitude of questions you have for him about damn near anything.

+2 for Tim, I've talked to him a few times and he always sends very fast replies. Easy to work with!

I know the owner, Chad Hayes, personally; he's been over to my house numerous times. If you have any trouble with him I'll give him a kick in the nuts

Tim Zimmer is about 2-3 months behind and is not taking any work until September at the earliest maybe end of October realistically.
