4G64 specs

Can anyone give me some info on for a 6 bolt 4G64 from a 92 eagle summit? I need bore (should be 87mm right?), and the bearing specs. A machine shop would know that crap right? I'm gonna magnaflux the block first before I have a machine shop do anything. I don't know crap about this stuff, but I'm learning. Also, should this motor be built loose? I hear thats a good idea for forced induction engines... How loose should it be exacly? .001" over?

.001" over on what exactly? The stock bore on the 2.4ls is 86.5mm.

Re: 4G64 specs

If you are just having it machined, specify to the shop how far over you want the bore, and how tight you want the piston wall clearance (different based on piston manuf) They will have the rest of the specs they need to machine it. As far as building the motor loose, depends on what you want to do with it. All out drag, sure build it looser, DD you don't want loose, everything wears a lot faster and is much louder (piston slap etc) Your question of how loose doesn't work, depends on what your referring too, bearing clearances, piston clearances, ring gap etc.
