Exclamation transverse transaxel Problem !!

So this is the second time that my transverse transaxel or Transmission is "messed up" on the backside of the tranny it became seperated again, i can see half of the dowl pin.... It was fine before I rebuilt the motor, and the transmission has been giving me preoblems ever sense. i was driving normal and all of a sudden it wouldnt let me shift out of gear or get into any other gears.

Does anyone know how i can keep the back side of the tranny flush with the motor, And yes all the bolts that hold it on are tight.

Re: transverse transaxel Problem !!

They must not be tight enough or it wouldnt have separated. They would either have snapped or stretched extremely which is doubtful. Do you still have the bolt that screws into the tranny from the back side of the block that pulls the tranny towards the block? Its right above the transfercase and it threads into the tranny. Sounds to me like you have a clutch problem. Warped pressure plate or warped/broken clutch disk. Did you bleed the clutch correctly?

With the car off, can you shift thru all the gears?

Weld the crack on the bellhousing.

Re: transverse transaxel Problem !!

We been through this man. If it was cracked several inches, it wouldnt be coming off of the dowel pin. If your worried about the bolts not being tight enough, use some low grade loctite. Obviously you dont wanna use high strength because that would make getting it off again a bit difficult.

You know all of this, I'm not sure you asked it here lol. Cracked belhousing will cause the tranny to flex thus not allowing things to work properly.
