What time on the 6th? Mine is at noon on the same day.

Re: my new project

Picked the car up last night. Can definitely feel that welded diff again lol. Right now I'm trying to get my tune moved to next week. Possibly next Wednesday at 3 but not sure if I can get off work for that. Hopefully Shane can do something in the evening next week.

Also it appears that there is some oil on the tbelt. So that means my oil leak is originating from inside the timing cover. So if I'm feeling ambitious this weekend I will pop the timing cover off clean it up and run it with the timing cover off and try and find the source of the leak.

Depending on the amount of oil on it, you may want to replace it.

If it's just a little and can wipe off easily, do that. I've seen a couple of timing belts on these motors just loose their teeth on a startup after being oil soaked for a while.

Yeah I know. It doesn't look like much. I will clean it up for now and try and figure outthe cause of the leak. But either way this belt will be replaced soon.

Re: my new project

Well not much to update just needed a break from the car. I pushed the tune back to the 13th. So we'll see if we can finally get an actual tune in the shitbox.

Hope all goes well, the car should rip. Making through a successful dyno session with a DSM is like winning the lottery.

Thanks! And indeed it is like winning the lottery! This will be the 5th trip to the dyno since I've owned the car lol. At this point I just want a tune in it. Even if it doesn't make the power it should

Re: my new project

Aaaannndddd the never ending shitbox saga continues. More fuel pressure issues. We're kinda stumped. Thinking maybe it's in the tank. Idk if it's not a cheap/easy fix the car will probably sit until next year.

I might just completely redo the whole fuel system over the winter and go from there.

And a couple more crappy charts with dropping fuel pressure

Exclamation Re: my new project

So i putzed with the car a little bit last night. I ran the pumps one at a time and used the pressure regulator to raise the pressure to 110psi. One of the pumps sounded good and strong at 110psi the other got so quiet you could barely hear it.

So I'm going to run the return line into a gas can and the flow for each pump at 85-90psi.

If the one pump comes up bad I still have those ford gt pumps so for testing purposes I'll see what those flow if it's close to the 255 I'll put a video camera on the fuel pressure gauge and do a couple high way pulls and see what happens

Re: my new project

Is there a specific reason you just don't get a single proper fuel pump and be done with it?

I know we've discussed it before, but it just seems penny wise, pound foolish compared to a incomplete dyno session.

Well I wasn't expecting this to happen this time lol. Mostly for the simplicity of trying to stick with what was in the car and trying to get it on the road this year so I could have some fun with it.

Plus Shane was most of the single pumps that are big enough for my goals aren't very streetable. since this isn't a dedicated race car yet I'd like to keep it somewhat streetable.

And then most the single pumps large enough to support I would have to sump my tank or install a surge tank, and probably run bigger lines, new fuel rail, etc. So it's not just slapping in a pump ya know?

But I think just completely redoing the fuel system from the ground up is something I'm going to do this winter. I know a lot of people don't like fuelab but there pumps can be dropped in tank so it would make the transition a little easier. Idk

Also i will say if it's a pump that is the issue this time it's completely my fault cause I bought used pumps cause I was broke when I got these pumps and was trying to get the thing going

Re: my new project

Would a wally 450 with a BAP be enough for this car?
