Need help!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK I put a new head gasket in my evo 03 and when I went for a test run I saw that I was hitting 23lbs of boost and I was told buy the guy I got if for that it was set at 18lbs so I lower the boost and now I CAN"T REV OVER 4500RPM and it is making about 9 to 11lbs of boost. I have a switch for my AEM one setting is for 93 at 18lbs and the other is for 110 at 23lbs. I for got that I had this switch before I lowed the boost. I tried to raise the boost but nothing happen. So I really need help on this one.

Re: Need help!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get your car retuned by Shane @ DB. There is no reason to only be running 18psi on 93 octane. I'm running 25psi on BP 93 Ultimate with the stock Evo IX turbo.

damn that is crazy. Boost is trully like a (expensive illegal drug). once you try it, you're hooked. I know I am... I hope everything goes well man.

Re: Need help!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I may have found out why I can't make any boost. I was looking on some other forum and I read that other people were having the same thing happen to them and It's a boost leak or a bad wastegate. I had this happen the first time when I got the car when it wouldn't let me rev over 4500RPM in neutral. So I was thinking it was a launch control set up for the AEM. I have a way to test the wastegate to see if it's bad. It make sent because the wastegate is what make the boost right and by using a boost controller you are controlling the amount of boost that the wastegate makes. I have tryed to raise mine back to 23lbs and know matter how much I raise the boost up it wont make over 10lbs.

No offense but it seems like you bought something that was a little over your head and your shooting in the dark. Yes the wastegate is what makes boost but with a leak to the wastegate you would get to much boost no to little. But im still for boost leak or ignition problems. I would just take it to MAP or DB and be done with it

Thanks for your input. But I don't think I am in over my head this is just the first turbo car I have ever owned and I have learn a lot already about the car.I am making a boost leak tester today and I a getting a laptop so I can see what the AEM is showing what the car is doing.

Re: Need help!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you're trying to get it to make boost again without having any idea what's going on in the engine? I would suggest you stop now and let someone who knows what they're doing fix it. If you continue on this path too much longer, it could end up getting very expensive for you.

Re: Need help!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you compression and leakdown tested it to make sure your headgasket swap was successful?

Not terribly sure what that means, but I'm guessing it means you figured out what was wrong and fixed it. What was the problem?
