Re: thoughts on this header....
I doubt if there's any other non-turbo guys on here. I'd save your money for throwing a turbo on there. Why waste your money on getting 4-5 horsepower when with a little ingenuity and a few more bucks, you could turbo your car on the cheap. If you've got the 1.8L engine, you're pretty much out of luck either way.

Re: thoughts on this header....
Buying a honda and keeping that NA is a better idea. At least those are light. These cars were made for boost, why someone would want to drive an NA one is beyond me.
a "header" will add next to no hp on your car. Unless you have some crazy compression built motor - you don't really need any mods because it won't make you go any faster.

ya know dude, while i appreciate your effort to give input, your comment "...why someone would want to drive an NA one is beyond me." is totally unwarranted. no one asked whether i should buy, have or try to buy a turbo. the question was strictly on thoughts of this header or headers in general.
i don't want your opinion on what kind of car YOU think i should have. i enjoy my NA car & it is easy to enjoy a car without turbo boost. so chill.
so again i ask others, any opinons on this or other headers.

Re: thoughts on this header....
Yup, you'd be wrong. There isnt a single person on this board who mods 1st gen NA DSMs. However if you want good advice that doesnt involve selling your car, here it is: Dont buy car parts off Ebay. You will NEVER get car parts from an Ebay based company and go "Wow, this is a really high quality part." If they did sell decent parts, REAL vendors that have to worry about their reputation in their community would stock the parts. I've got more respect for an NT DSMer than I do for someone who mods their car with ebay parts thinking they are doing themselves a favor by saving a few bucks.

Re: thoughts on this header....
I wasn't trying to piss you off. Have you ever driven an AWD turbo dsm? They aren't that much more expensive heh. If you have never driven one, then why don't you go try it out and see exactly what we were saying.
The advice was given. Don't waste your money on an ebay header. If you wanna build a real NA performance car, then you need to research real ways to gain power. Spending that money elsewhere would be a better choice.

not pissed off pimp, just thought your opinion was kinda condescending & uncalled for. yes i have driven dsm turbos before FWD & AWD. (mike at RRE has even let me drive his before.) i know they have kick ass power, but i simply enjoy the simplicity & practicality of a NA along with several other reasons.
BUT, the advice that you & cvd are giving NOW is respected & appreciated. thanks! .....so with y'alls suggestion to not get headers off ebay, then where do you suggest? or what manufacturer? (besides pacesetter).

Re: thoughts on this header....
You're gonna have to find a site that talks about NA performance to get very much info on this. As chris said, you are like the only person with a 1g na that mods their car here heh. I wouldn't know where to look. I'd stop at some shops and see what they carry.

Why did you post this in this thread and why were you giving him crap for modding a N/A dsm. I recall you driving around in a 1g N/A with a body kit and different fenders not too long ago.
I think there is a N/A section on dsmtuners

Re: thoughts on this header....
James is right. 3 years ago I had a 1.8 eclipse RS. Body kit and all. No performance parts what so ever. It was my first car and I didn't know what a turbo was. I wish someone got to me sooner so I woulda caught on quicker. It was over a year before I got smart and bought a fwd turbo laser.
I don't blame you for liking your car. However, I was trying to save you some pain and cash. It would be hard to fit in around here if you drive an NA dsm that you want to make go quick. You'd hop on a dyno at dyno day and throw down 120 hp. Again, don't go ebay for most things performance related.
This thread is whored. I was just trying to point out the obvious since I once had the same problem.
EDIT - James, pretend like that was my car more plz. Yes I had one along time ago, but that white one was my friends car and it didn't have any go fast mods. Why waste money on that when the car will never go fast. Why did you post here? I at least answered his question on several different levels.
