Re: Throttle Body Question

Its for cold start in winter to get your car warmed up faster. You can loop it and be fine.

Re: Throttle Body Question

When I did this I started getting idle surge because the FIAV (reason for the water lines) stopped working correctly. Once I blocked off the FIAV it was fixed.

Re: Throttle Body Question

FIAV = Fast Idle Air Valve. It's on the bottom part of your throttle body

Re: Throttle Body Question

You looped your heater core? Wtf is the point? Some drag car spyder? Won't you get cold on top down summer nights? If you're gonna loop the lines, you might as well pull the heater core, reduce weight...

And if this is some drag beast machine, get a real throttle body.

Re: Throttle Body Question

If you loop it, you should put on an FIAV blockoff plate on it. Or else you will be letting a small amount of air passed the TB plate all the time, which was only meant to be during warm-up.

Re: Throttle Body Question

You could just machine a plate plate and block off the whole bottom of the throttle body. It wont idle at all cold and you have to keep your foot on the gas until it is warm but you could make a whole block off plate yourself if you're cheap.

Re: Throttle Body Question

the heater core is pulled... again.. i pulled all of the hvac shit out. blower motor.. evap. HEATER CORE... and all of the plastic pieces with it all.. there is NOTHING under the dash. and there wasnt any point in having the heater core in. the blower motor wasnt working. so the heater core would basically heat soak and be pointless. as for the throttle body?? im leaving the coolant lines run to it. no point in having my car run like shit until it warms up because i wanted to loop some lines..

Re: Throttle Body Question

Good to hear about the keeping the lines to the TB.
Curious why you didn't just replace the blower motor and have heat?
