Re: Project Lex
I didn't keep the car long enough to know how long it lasted haha.
But I just texted the new owner, he said it died on him after sitting all winter. I installed a cutoff switch on the battery so it would last longer, but he forgot to do that and killed it. So I guess you just have to be a bit more careful with them compared to a normal battery, if you can get 15lb lawnmower matteries every year for $25, that's probably a better route.

Re: Project Lex
Corbeau's ftw. LG's are like the wide fat man seats of the Corbeau lineup too.

Re: Project Lex
You should just have me drive you around to help blend them into the interior.

That lever is nice. Those dials are one thing that is kinda a pita to deal with as a passenger, takes forever to recline!

Re: Project Lex
Those will be nice! Going to replace the carpet first before you stick them in? Or dye it black?

Re: Project Lex
Brownman, did you miss the part where I'm redoing the interior this winter to a new color scheme?
Peter, I'll be doing that this winter. The seats in general were planned for this winter, however since I'm going to try and race at PG, thought it might be nice to take advantage of the weight savings these offer so going to do the seats a little sooner than originally planned. Plan is to just dye it black. I have been reading how heavy the stock carpet is though, so there is actually a good amount of weight savings to be had by replacing it (30ish lbs savings) So I'm considering that, but at the same time if it weighs so much because it's helping insulate the interior sound wise, I hate to replace it just to have it ruin the quietness inside that I'm really enjoying.

Re: Project Lex
Passenger side is in!
So I had read about how bad a lot of these seat brackets were, so I was expecting install to be a little bit of a PITA. Well I was wrong, the Corbeau brackets fit perfect. 4 bolt holes to attach to the seat lined up perfect. The 5 holes that go to the stock location lined up perfect as well. Install was an absolute breeze!
I also busted out our highly inaccurate bathroom scale. I weighed the stock passenger seat at 56.5lbs. I weighed the replacement seat at 29lbs and the bracket at 11.5lbs. Not quite the weight difference I expected, but again this is my chinese bathroom scale. I also predict the stock drivers side seat will be heavier and be a more significant weight savings.
The seats fit in the car great, feel comfy, a hair more difficult to get in/out because of the torso bolsters but really not that bad. Overall very good first impressions, couldn't be more satisfied.
Only negative things are that the seat belt clip sits a little high, but whatever I'm sure they have it like that to clear the worst case scenario seat with super high bottom bolsters. And also it takes a little bit away from the sleeper-ness of the car, but that's kinda to be expected.
Bosses stamp of approval. Pregger Wife even said it felt snug yet comfy, and she's packing an extra person right where those bolsters are!

Re: Project Lex
seat height might be like an inch higher. there looks to be a couple washers i could remove to lower it a hair, but just going to rock them as is.

Re: Project Lex
Lets see how she runs at the track this weekend! Also maiden 'tow' voyage with the D-RT, so we'll see how it does as well.
