Why dont you get that transmission out, I can take a look at it and most likely fix it for ya.

Your 1st and 2nd are horrible right?

Well get er out, at this point its best to pull it out, inspect you clutch. It probably needs syncro replacement. I can do syncro replacement, there only 20$ a piece. So it would be 40$ to replace 1st and 2nd gear syncros if that the problem. But they would need to be ordered and I have to bring the counter shaft to work after pulling the trans, to use the shop press and replace them. You could also have a bad fork but only opening it up can you tell. If it is a bad fork or rail, I have a couple of them around.

Ya i just read through the vafq teardown seems pretty simple i got a parts trans aswell im assuming its the fork, it all started when i couldnt get it into 1st then its like it doesnt move far enough to grab 2nd gear while your moving, i just need it to run and drive good so i can go get a new job lol. could u pm me how much you would charge if i remove it to have ya go thru it and how long it would take? oh and just so ya know 2nd gear syncro was shot b4 this occurred it would grind every time

Since you dont have a vehicle, Id charge you gas/parts plus 50$ to go through it and fix it if you want to. As far as how long it takes, it depends if parts need to be ordered or not. I dont know if and mitsu dealers carry syncros on hand. It all depends on whats wrong with it, or if you want some new seals in it, things like that. If its just a fork, thats easy I have one.

Since you say 2nd gear was grinding before, its proably syncros. Try putting it in gear without the car running, if it goes smooth then its most likely syncros, or dragging clutch, which kills syncros.

Get er out, drain the fluid first, see what it looks like.
