more mods,less power...

I upgraded from a
1g maf to a 2g maf,
450s to 880s,
14b to evo316g,
2g exhaust manifold to evo3 exhaust manifold,
TMO stg3 chip to burned chip from shane to comp maf n injectors...

Still running stock sidemount, and stock fuel pump, its running good enough to DD, but really lacking in gittup? Should it be normal til i get fuel pump and tune? Or should i be running a lot better? I dont want to set up a date with shane for nothin? Will i need a fmic? Bigger exhaust? Etc... Before tuning? Im really shootin for the "stock" look!

Re: more mods,less power...

I recommend you size every part of your setup to work together.

Your side mount pending boost is hurting the setup, I would say 2.5" exhaust min, and a walbro 255hp is a min for a small project like this. The 880's are big but the chip takes care of that.

I would do a good sized FMIC, exhaust, clutch, fuel pump, link or similar, and get it tuned so you know were your at.

You don't need those parts to make big power. You need those parts to have your car run right.

Pushit is right those size your parts accordingly

Re: more mods,less power...

At least do it on the cheap with a stock Evo IX fuel pump, a Supra SMIC, and a fucking air filter so your internals aren't constantly being sand-blasted. Hell, you could even sell those 880's and drop some Evo 560's in there. The smaller the injector you can get away with the better with the DSM ECU's.

Re: more mods,less power...

If its a 1g, there's no tank dropping involved. There's a fuel pump access point in the trunk.

Re: more mods,less power...

Its your SMIC, they suck and are worthless even on E85 with stock turbo.

Fuel pump is the same even on pump gas I was out of fuel at 10psi.

Replace those 2, tune and re-evaluate.

Exactly my thoughts. Assuming you are working within a tight budget, going with used OEM parts from other cars is a great way to keep cost down while still obtaining decent results (e.g. Evo/3kgt fuel pump, supra sidemount, etc).

How much boost? What afr under wot? Get the rest of your parts together and get it tuned, otherwise you're shooting in the dark!

Get rid of that side mount ASAP! My friend with 20 psi on an e16g and sidemount was no faster than my 14b at 15 psi on a small front mount.

But it only runs for maybe 30secs or so then sguts off again?
