Custom Braided lines

Anyone know of any local hydraulic shops or anything that can make custom SS Braided lines? Looking to get a clutch line made.

Or on another note, is it OK to just run say a standard -3 or -4 braided line, and some AN fittings for something like that (kind of like a fuel line)? Or is there too much pressure in a clutch system for those kinds of fittings?

Re: Custom Braided lines

Its fine to run the braided line but you're better off with -3AN. I've seen problems with -4AN and its pretty "spongy". A lot more fluid to compress and its in a rubber hose now. Makes the pedal softer with a SS braided line as well. Even going to a -3AN will soften the pedal some vs steel line.

Check with local diesel repair shops. I had one do some for me quite a while back and I can't remember who it was.

Re: Custom Braided lines

I think you have the wrong idea, I'm not replacing all the hard line. The way my car is stock is:

Master Cyl | Hard Line | Rubber Line | Additional Random Loopy Bent Excessive Lengths Of Hard Line | Slave Cyl

That last section of excessive hard line doesn't line up with the new 350z clutch slave. And no idea why it's even there because the rubber line could reach the slave if they wanted it to. So anyhow I want a small length (12") of braided line to replace the Rubber and Additional Hard portion so it will become:

Master Cyl | Hard Line | Braided Line | Slave Cyl

Anyhow, I ordered a 240sx line which should hopefully do the trick.

Re: Custom Braided lines

A friend of mine used Pirtek for the Scorpio brake lines, he had nothing but good things to say.

Re: Custom Braided lines

There also is one located in the plymouth area so they are located sort of between both worlds. . . .as far as city locations ...might be a drive sometimes but itll be worth it. Especially if you know what youre talking about and need you can call in ahead of time.
