Question Cooling system bleeding?

Last night i let my car idle a little longer than the first night i started it. Just wanted to make sure nothing was leaking, etc...

The top radiator hose was pretty warm to the touch but the bottom one was still cool. I just put a brand new thermostat in when i bought it last August. I don't see how it could go bad after just sitting around for several months.

Can the cooling system get vacuum locked? What is the best way to bleed any air out of it?

Thanks.

Re: Cooling system bleeding?

to bleed the air, start the car take off the radiator cap and let it warm up to operating temp. when it does the thermostat will open, and you should be able to see the fluid going by, also this lets the excess air out. when your done put the cap on and your done.
