Re: Fp green or red

From the title of the thread I thought you were focused solely on those FP turbos. If you're thinking outside the box, then add another vote for an S256. Potent, BW reliability, and very affordable.

You'd have to probably call them or Bullseye about a bolt on housing.

Agree with Halon.
Holset's are good because they are cheap and durable.

Re: Fp green or red

Nice talking to you yesterday Jeremy. I hate to steer you away from FP since they are such a great company that has done amazing things for the DSM community but it's hard to pass up the price and reliability of an HX35. In terms of spool and airflow, there is not much of anything in the HX35's price category that can compete.

Let me start off by saying that the HX35 is extremely EFFICIENT. The 7 blade HX35 is good for ~60lb/min. Although, we have to consider that you want to run the BEP housing which does choke the 7 blade variant a bit. With the BEP .55ar you'd be looking at ~54lb/min, exactly that of an hta green, for roughly half of the price.

The selling point for me when looking at Holsets is their reliability. These things come off of trucks running ridiculously high boost, that get beat on daily, and they are still spooling like new after 400k+ miles of abuse. Oil them properly and they'll reward you with reliability unlike any other brand at that performance level.

Re: Fp green or red

Holset is the ultimate DSM brand as far as turbos go. Cheap, reliable and proven. My truck is pushing 260,000 miles and the turbo on it is perfectly good. It is actually the exact same turbo going on my Talon. HX35W
