FS: Complete 6 Bolt NT-Turbo

Selling this motor without flywheel or clutch:

Car's odometer read 120k something when I pulled it. Drove it into the garage, but does need it's timing done due to oil leaks getting oil on the belt. The guy I bought the car from (Twack) said it had 200 psi compression across the board. Some time along the car's life, somebody put in a nt long block. That would mean like 9:1 compression on the same rods, crank, and block that the turbo motors have. No oil squirters either.

I'm thinking 600 obo. Let me know. Might be open to trades.

Re: FS: Complete 6 Bolt NT-Turbo

I'm slightly interested, would have liked it if you compression tested it yourself and reported results.

Sorry, I trust him with the numbers so I never tested it myself. The motor itself ran great, it felt like a higher compression motor. It just needs new timing equipment and associated parts along with some seals replaced. You're welcome to come see it.

Re: FS: Complete 6 Bolt NT-Turbo

Yeah, stock everything. The only thing is the egr valve is blocked. Im looking for something bigger than a 14b for my DSM so trades/upgrades are welcome too...

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention the turbo is bad. A LOT of shaft play.

Re: FS: Complete 6 Bolt NT-Turbo

Does this mean it just a NT block with turbo guts? Nt pistons are not the same as turbo's.

Yes, that is why I said 9:1 compression in my first post. From what I've read, the nt pistons are made the same, they just have higher compression.

The ring lands is the biggest difference. On the turbo pistons, the ring lands are farther down the skirt to help with heat dissipation and the rings themselves are wider. And if I remember correctly, the turbo piston crowns are treated or made from a different material.

If it was just the compression ratio that was different, people would have been running NT pistons as an upgrade instead of 2g.

But, that being said, it's also not hard at all to just pop in a set of turbo pistons and be done.

GL with sale as a complete 6-bolt motor that runs is worth that.

Thank you for clearing that up. Either way, one can run low boost levels and make decent power if they wanted to keep the bottom end un-touched. They would just have to watch knock like crazy.

Re: FS: Complete 6 Bolt NT-Turbo

FWIW, i comp tested it twice, once when i got it, and right before 123abc got the car. The numbers were right around 200. I was pretty impressed with the numbers because when i bought the car i didnt think it was going to have a good engine

I still have this. A lot of people seem interested but no one has come to pick it up yet.
