What is my car worth?

1993 Talon Tsi AWD with 6bolt/4bolt combo (will add pics if necessary)

Owned my Talon since 2006. I have a friend that is interested in buying it but i really have no idea what it would be worth on todays market. I bought it nearly stock and have done all the work on it since. I have listed the parts below.

It made 400awhp at DB 6 years ago or more. I have had no major issues in the last 4 years and i have put miles on it every year. The car has has been quite reliable, especially for a DSM. Please let me know what you think it could sell for on the open market, however i already have a buyer.

Let me know if you need additional information. (this was the list i sent him so disregard any unnecessary info)

-Brembo Evo 9 front calipers with drilled and slotted rotors. (I have the rears but i dont know if there is a conversion kit for those)
-17" OZ Racing wheels
-Precision 50 trim turbo with S-cover with braided feed and return lines
-tubular exhaust manifold that has been modified to fit better
-JMF Race sheet metal intake manifold
-Tial dual spring wastegate with open dump tube handles 30 psi no problem
-Greddy type R BOV
-Large intercooler (guessing its 28"x12"x3") with black powder coated hard piping (cant remember the brand but the kit was $600+ new so not cheap crap)
-3.5" full custom exhaust (3" to the flex pipe then 3.5" back with magnaflow open muffler)
-3" intake hard pipe with K&N filter
-ACT 2600 clutch
-ACT lightweight flywheel
-1000cc Precision injectors
-Walboro 255 fuel pump rewired
-Eprom ecu tuned to e85 by DB performance
-Koyo alluminum radiator with two slim fans connected to the AC switch
-Mishimoto aluminum coolant overflow
-Setrab oil cooler kit with braided lines
-Battery relocation to the trunk
-Taylor 10mm plug wires
-Always use NGK spark plugs. Fresh ones in there now.
-Alluminum strut tower bar front and rear
-Eibach sportline lowering springs
-AGX adjustable shocks
-Fuily built head. BC titanium springs and retainers, BC 272 cams, fresh valve seals and guides, professionally decked and machined, cant recall if we did oversized valves but possible.
-ARP head studs
-Balance shaft elimination
-Stock bottom end
-Ams Oil 5w40 for years now
-Redline cocktail in tranny and transfer case
-AEM Wideband
-Autometer boost, oil temp, water temp, and oil pressure all functioning
-JBL speakers with Pioneer deck
-Rare black and grey interior
-Replaced clutch master cylinder, wheel bearings (not sure how many), tie rods, ball joints
-New interstate battery last year
-No abs or ac

Here is what the car needs:
Front shocks are going out
Paint job
Parking brake reconnected
There's a coolant plug that tends to leak and needs replacing every so often

Re: What is my car worth?

Prices for these cars are all over the place, you just need to compare to what people are getting online.

Re: What is my car worth?

Advice would be to fix everything listed but the paint and price it $500 to $1000 more than what you would actually sell the thing for. It's going to be worth what someone will pay for it, which doesn't help, but with these cars that's the case these days. And the more people need to fix the less they want to pay.

Re: What is my car worth?

Pics would help, I think overall condition matters more than Mods. I see no Transmission upgrades, stock shortblock/studs/headgasket to be negatives.

Re: What is my car worth?

There really isnt much for pricing online. I have been searching every site i can think of and have found only a hand full for sale ranging from $800 to $8000.

I will get some pics up later today i think. Tranny is stock but shifts fine as long as your not pounding it into gear. Why would the stock shortblock, ARPS, and Mitsu headgasket be negatives? Thanks.

Re: What is my car worth?

^Means the car isn't really worth shit.

If you want help it would really help to disclose everything about the car, i mean the first thing people want to know is usually mileage and I don't see it listed.

I'd say maybe $4500ish for a normal person.

Re: What is my car worth?

I would agree around $4500 knowing what i paid for mine a year or so ago. I personally don't look exactly for a built transmission or block but that's just me. I don't believe you would get much more for it even if it was..

Re: What is my car worth?

Seems like similar cars on fb groups get posted for 3,500 to 4,500 depending on condition. If you clean it up real nice and take detailed pics, a detailed for sale post, answer any potential questions in the post, any maintenance records, etc. The more you will be able to get out of it. When I see guys with one fuzzy potato picture and a shitty description, I assume the car was taken care of similarly. Those will be the ads nobody will bother giving a good offer to because there just isn't much effort put into it.

I disagree with you. Mileage is not very relevant considering the entire car has been highly molested. Not to mention it has a cluster and bottom end from a different car and that mileage is unknown. But if you must know, the cluster that is in the car shows 148k.

Re: What is my car worth?

The real deal is that none of these cars are worth shit lol, but I think you could get 4k-4500. Even the one with 12k orig. miles for some 8500 hasn't sold in like 3 years.

Re: What is my car worth?

You can disagree all you want, but you are looking at what you are selling and we are taking a blind guess over here.

Also beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
