Anyone know if this is the same series that aired on the BBC? I want to download them, but all I can find is the BBC ones...

Re: Planet Earth on discovery..
Yea its the same series. It was a joint 5 year production between Discovery and the BBC.
I believe the only difference is that the BBC series is voiced by a smart sounding british dude, and the US version is dubbed by Sigourney Weaver for some reason.

Local HD broadcast>HD cable, at least on my TV. The parts I watch were cool.

I love the scene where the shark gets the sea lion and completely leaves the surface of the water by about 10 feet. Also the air shots of the dogs hunting in Africa were pretty cool.

Saw it on a friend's big HD TV. Pretty awesome. I fell asleep on the 3rd one though... 3 hours was a pretty long time to look at nature.
