Re: Teh Dizzevo

Matt, I found your next mod

35+ mm wide fenders for Evo 8/9

There replacement wide fenders will work with your factory bumper while giving you the possibility of putting more rubber on the road while not adding extra weight compared to stock factory fenders.

Sold in a pair

Wheel size recommended: 18 x 9 +20mm / 18 x 9.5 +25mm

$270 a pair!

Re: Teh Dizzevo

Oh my... If only the rear fenders were as easily modifiable.

The car needs so much maintenance work done on it right now it won't see any fun parts for quite a while.

-Front ball joints are shot, will replace with Whiteline Roll Center Kit
-Struts are quite bouncy all around, unsure what direction to go with that
-Right rear wheel bearing needs replacing
-Need to get rotors replaced, picked up a complete set of Hawk HPS pads off EvoMN

Yep, will be doing my timing belt closer to summer. 114,000 on the clock right now, did the last at 66,000. FWIW if your timing belt looks good then don't be in a rush to change it, I have no doubt that mine could have gone 100,000 miles without being touched.

I thought your rears were sitting decently flush with the rear fenders last I saw your car?

Anyways, try to find some Bilsteins!! You rode in my car with the Swift Spec-R's (same as you have) and Bilsteins. It's a real nice combo.

And look into Rotorpros for the brake rotors, thats what I plan on using, they seem to be good quality from the reviews. Plus, I like the fact they won't rust except on the contact surface.

That's what I thought with Emily's Galant, then the belt went with only 39,000 miles on it

Re: Teh Dizzevo

I'd recommend the Centric Premiums since they use the known good 120 core. Rotorpros vary and can be either the 120's or the lesser 121 (C-TEK). The 120 cores are what Powerslot, Cryostop, and Stoptech use for their branded rotors.

Inspection goes a long way but you can't predict freak failures like that. Consumer protection laws can't require maintenance intervals, but they can be recommended, which is where the 60k comes from.

i would rather be safe then sorry. better to spend $500 now, then $2500 for a new head. Plus its in storage right now anyways. So perfect time to do it.
