Car lift - what are your thoughts?

Take a look at this guys:

http://briansrepairables.com/#!/list...1665d70df783d0

I don't trust it, but probably because I'm weird.
I'm curious about 2 or 4 post for my place.

I don't know anything about lifts, but that looks like it wouldn't end well to me.

Re: Car lift - what are your thoughts?

I've used scissor lifts before and were great but they all have been bolted into the concrete. That i'm not so sure about.

Looked like these, but a different manufacturer. Only problem is working underneath the car in the center section if needed. Like exhaust ect.

Re: Car lift - what are your thoughts?

I've been looking at lifts seriously for myself as well. I've looked at that one, but like others mentioned, I want the center open for exhaust and driveshaft work. This is by far my favorite, but out of my price range right now. http://www.bestbuyautoequipment.com/...l-6k-hr-70.htm

Hadn't seen this one before, this might actually fill the bill especially since I have a low ceiling in my garage. Free shipping too. This might be my Christmas present this year. http://www.bestbuyautoequipment.com/...2VsaApdn8P8HAQ

The first one you have you can probably get by doing most things with unless maybe brake lines or fuel lines that run along the rocker area. Those are like the ones we used in the shop. They make these compacted foam blocks that you can put underneath the pinchwelds that give it 3-5" of clearance from the lift.

Re: Car lift - what are your thoughts?

Yeah, I used to use the 4" and 6" lift pads on my 2-post. It would've been so nice to have a lift when I pulled out the rear subframe on the GSX. I'm too old for jackstands and blankets on the floor.
