Re: House Projects
Looking good, Murlo!
I haven't done too much this year besides general maintenance and up-keep, but I did rip out my front bushes and brick garden surrounds this spring and replaced them with new bushes (nice looking ones that flower, including two rose bushes) and wooden post boarders.
I bought an automatic robot vacuum which is freakin' badass! Bobsweep...basically Roomba's competitor.
I was also at Home Depot last night to pick out new kitchen appliances so I will be ordering those today. GE Adora-series in slate; french door fridge, dishwasher, gas range, and microwave.
Next up will be new kitchen counters and kitchen bathroom vanity set. I don't know exactly what I want yet, but I do know for the center island I'm going to have a large wooden cutting board made to act as the counter top.

Re: House Projects
appliances look nice and fancy!
Butcher block looks really cool when it is new, IMO the downside is it looks kinda meh after it has been used a few years if it hasn't been sanded and refinished...

Re: House Projects
Butcher block, thank you, that's the term I was looking for. You make a great point too, that is something I'm going to need to look into and think about.

Re: House Projects
Something I wanted to try for a long time. Flashed the walls and used a waterproof membrane before I epoxied the floor. Now I can wash walls down and wash vehicles in my garage. This is just the paint booth portion of my garage and now I am gonna be finishing the other side. Kinda neat so thought I would share.

Re: House Projects
^Looks good, cool idea! I love the thought of being able to wash a car indoors.
I just got all the appliances ordered; American Airlines had a deal going on through their online shopping mall that got me 3 miles per $1 spent using my AA credit card...that basically got me enough miles from this one transaction for a one-way flight. Not a bad extra perk

Indeed. I wanted something nice, big, etc. Seems like I'm always running out of fridge/freezer room. The dual ice makers will be really nice to have too. Plus LED's and TURBO Cool...can't go wrong with those kinds of buzz words!

Re: House Projects
Haha yea I kept my old one when I went Stainless in June, so that one sits downstairs. Double the fridge space ftw.
Why not just keep your old one unless you have no place to put it?

Re: House Projects
I don't really have anywhere out of the way to put it and I'd rather not have 2 fridges running. Figure I'll just do it once and do it right and not have any ragrets after the fact.

Re: House Projects
Bad assssssss fridge stuff brah! Love the rest of the appliances too, that is gonna be a nice setup.
GE makes inteface boards, not sure if they're compatible with your gear or not but you can wire them all up to a raspberry pi and do automation/remote monitoring on all of them

Re: House Projects
My fridge looks the same, but is older doesnt' have as many features on the dispenser only a few buttons.
But the auto fill and precise fill are very nice.

Re: House Projects
Its been a busy landscaping season for me. This year we put down 2500 yards of sod. (big thanks so some of my car buddies that helped with this). Also planted over 30 shrubs, 20 perennials, and six trees. Also built a 140 driveway and culvert using 50 tons of crushed concrete. Put in 300 feet of edging and spread 15 ton of rock. Built a 70 x 3 foot retaining wall too.
How I made it to car events is surprising. And now that the seasons are changing, I'm kind of sad its over, but I also need a long break. Here is the before and after picture of the sod and retaining wall we did over the last few weeks.
