Looks nice...but sharp. Gonna cover it up with a bit of padding?

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
I played around with my mill and lathe yesterday and completed the adaptor bracket for the master cylinder.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
How much extra effort will this add to braking? It would be sweet to ditch that giant thing out of the engine bay, any guess on weight savings?

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
Nice. Must be really handy to have access to CNC equipment to make stuff up like that! I have to resort to angle grinders and files, and end up with something that looks like meh... lol. Good work man.

I don't know but I'm sure it will be fine. Others have reported that it works good on track cars. Total weight savings is in the neighborhood of 8-10 lbs. It's nice having extra room in the engine bay.

You should have seen some of the hack work I had performed on my talon back in the day! I love this hobby since Im always learning better techniques on just about everything. I enjoy fabricating and building stuff. I didn't use a CNC on this one, I used my manual mill. Ive been building my tool collection for a while now. I still have so much to learn, I'm glad I can find just about any tutorial on YouTube. For instance I just figured out how to cut threads on my lathe. I needed to make a new rod to actuate the master cylinder, I practiced on a piece of aluminum.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
That is cool as hell man. It would be nice to clear up all that space in the bay though, makes me want to do it to the beater some day.
also- that EvoM link is pretty damn interesting, learned lots of things I never knew about brakes!

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
I installed my per cylinder widebands today.
I also noticed that I had a huge crack on the inside of my turbo exhaust housing. I found a Honda guy that had a new 1.15ar for sale, so I bought it.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
I installed my new exhaust housing on the car, I got it from a honda guy in CA for a smokin deal. I broke a stud on in the header when I removed the old housing. I lucked out when I drilled out the stud and was able to chase/find the original threads with a tap. So its a 1.15 ar.
I also figured out what to do about my fueling issues by using a weldon 2345a:

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
Looks good Mark, how many gallons of the cell?
Using E98 is the cell going to hold enough to leave from the pits to staging and making a pass then back to the pits?

It holds just under 5 gallons. I do have enough fuel to get from the pits and back, however I do add fuel on each pass to make sure I don't have fuel cavitation. I drove it up to the mitsu cook out this summer too. I brought fuel with me to get back home.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
Im having the engine bay painted and the painter asked if I had any other parts that I desired to be painted. I had plans on building some areo features, it was low on my priority list, however the priority has now increased due to having them painted.
Here they are so far, I need to apply bondo, sand them up and send them and the car to the painter.
early in the process:
