Front line makes badass products! I see you used grey silicone. Much better than the black stuff.

Dayum, shiny!! What's the purpose of the rear cover, more fluid, higher fill hole, more bling? Strength? Either way, hotness.

Its for strength. But definitely offers a touch more of the bling factor than a factory cover haha

The stud keeps the differential caps from backing out if it ever happens.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

It helps avoid bearing cap deflection on the ring gear. It keeps the ring & pinion mated properly, that's the theory. I broke a rear end last year, I'm hoping this will help.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

Did you break it on the launch? What was the 60' or estimated 60'?

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

I suspect I hurt the rearend launching it, it broke right after shifting into second.

I picked up a couple of vibrant clamshell clamps. I keep bending ic pipe with over torquing t-bolt clamps, causing boost leaks. These should solve that issue.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

How much are those? I bent my AMS IC pipes a bunch as they were aluminum with my tbolts.

I didn't have as many issues, none really, with SS piping. But maybe these are on option.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

Makes me want stainless piping again. Electric impact on IC pipes FTW!

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

I've always preferred aluminum to save the weight plus dissipate a little extra heat. Use a 1/4" driver and don't go gorilla-mode.

That doesn't always work when you're running Leasure boost though haha

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

I never lost a coupler with the big setup the evo had.

I'm kind of surprised Mark didn't do this earlier since it seems everything he does is an engineering masterpiece it seems.

Although I don't run the same boost levels as these guys, I've never popped one either.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

I popped my UICP a few times before I had tbolts, running ~38psi.

But once I had the tbolts it stayed together. I think what Mark is saying is that the tbolts worked fine they are just easy to dent the piping with...which is what I did too. It's easy to over tighten.

I've had the stock woven piping blow off before, but never a silicone coupler.

Probably time for a set of these, or Wiggins clamps to handle Leasure boost without torquing the t-bolts to 100 ft/lbs.

Or just use SS pipes?
