Twacks joining the cool kids and going manual. (lots of pics)

Well the time came and the auto was done. I got a steal of a deal on all of the manual swap parts in awesome condition. I wanted to build up the auto but as some of you may know i got laid off last week so theres no way in the world i could put money in the auto.
Since I now have a lot of spare time and a junk auto i figured it was time to take the plunge and do the swap.

No more giant shifter

Stupid axle nut

One last look at the auto that treated me good all these years

Got all my auto drivetrain out

Dustin 123abc decided to come down to turn some wrenches

New LSD 4 bolt rear diff

Whats this is see in my bay? Could it be? yes it is! MANUAL

Here she is sitting like the jack stand queen she is

This is the parts car I found on craigslist we gutted to get all the swap parts. It was a DUI seizure

Muahahahahah that last pic is full of win!

I had a fun time. You know I like coming up there and helping out. We got quite a bit done since we started at like 8 last night till 3:30 today.

What does that leave then? Drive shaft, cutting the holes for the cables and the slave, mounting the line and swapping pedal assemblies, and also the front axles.

Thanks for the pics. I haven't done much work on cars and am always curious about how things are done.

Re: Twacks joining the cool kids and going manual. (lots of pics)

Got some updates for yall

Cutting holes with only the grinder wheel and no other cutting tools sucks but hey it works

So that means its time for a shifter and cables!!! tranny feels great

I spent a good hour or two upsidedown trying to get the damn pedal out. If you want to know what it takes to get a pedal out, here you go

But i didnt let it beat me and if you know what your looking at you can see some Manual pedals

And finally i got the hole cut for the master cylinder, this project is really coming together

Had to pull the manual pedals back out to get welded, but they feel great now
Pics coming soon
Filled the new driveshaft carrier bearings with silicone

New slave

New master

What its all about

Got the driveshaft and transfercase installed
Pics coming soon
When you have a rollbar and dont pull the seats this is how you install pedals and adjust them

Re: Twacks joining the cool kids and going manual. (lots of pics)

One of my shifter cables had a broken cable so i tried using Poofys old 2g cable. 2g cables have more movement so it worked great in my car. But because of the extra movement i dont think a 1g cable would work in a 2g.

You can see that the metal piece on the 2g does not get in the way at all

Got one side all done and ready to go

Got bored painted the nasty lookin CAS

Got the exhaust on, time for half the jackstands to go!
