Re: Beater 2g Round 2

White gets so dirty under the hood, but it would look nice if you could keep it clean.

Re: Beater 2g Round 2

I saw you getting on hwy 36 tonight around 5. You were heading east. I was a couple cars back. I see a talon just like yours in the morning at that stop light when iam going to work. Its a darker color tho. I never get a good look to see who it is. I like goodharts idea. it would look really nice with black timing belt cover, black spark plug wire, and a white fuel rail. Do a shaved black intake manifold.

Re: Beater 2g Round 2

Maybe you could put some of that bass boat sparkle in the white and have candy too, all Swalchick style n shit LOL

Plus, if its shaved and white, it'd be easy to clean. blast of brake clean and 30 seconds with a rag = good to go

haha I kind of liked Kevin's valve cover for being different I do think a little brake clean and a rag would clean it up nicely though if I went with white.

Oh no, I'll have to get mine done first so I'm not copying you You going with a crazy breather setup or something? -10 lines and stuff?

Ohh, I was on my way to go get that extra valve cover. I like your idea of the white and black too, might have to roll with that.

Re: Beater 2g Round 2

^lol. You probably will get it done before me.

Plan is to go 2, -10 sized lines to catch can and one -12 sized line into the intake pipe. This is the plan for now, but I have a couple of more people to talk to before I try to get anything made, all I know is my worn out motor needs help!!

Oh, on the mileage thing, autos suck i only get 17mpg average. It makes me not want to drive it, that much not while my honda is getting over double that.

Re: Beater 2g Round 2

Looks stupidly overpriced and makes it a big ordeal just to fill oil.

Might be an option though when compared to additional lines for a VC breather.

Email them and tell them you want to test one. A few people on here have got them for free for testing.

I tested one on my evo and it really wasn't bad to fill up. It was a standard 19mm bolt so if you cary any tool to change a tire in your car you could remove the cap. I didn't really notice any difference though as I wasn't making any crazy power or had any real blow by issues.

Free parts ftw! Maybe I can get them to let me test a bunch of stuff for 2g's. If only people really cared about old crappy dsm's.

Re: Beater 2g Round 2

No super cool updates but I'm bored at work.

Every since I bought the car the gas pedal was super hard to press, not sticky, just had resistence to it. So I bought a non-cruise control cable the other day to clean up the engine bay and help with the pedal feel. I'm really glad I did as the cruise kind of sucked with a small turbo/cams anyways and now the pedal feels how it should.

Also took some degreaser and tried to clean it up a little bit, didn't go too crazy as I'll be replacing the valve cover and what not before too long and removing a lot of the crap on the fire wall. Still looks a little better for not having much to do to it. The one thing I still have to do is buy a little bit longer vacuum line for the bov to intake manifold. haha that has bugged me since picking up the car but all the spare vacuum line I have laying around is just a hair short to run it under the intercooler pipe.

With the throttle cable I picked up some smoked side signals. This will be the only exterior mod I pay for besides getting it tinted someday and probably putting coil overs/springs on it (if some people count those as exterior mods). I think the side markers will look much more in place once I smoke/paint the chrome in the headlights.

I also bought an emprom and DSMLink v3 so that should be here this week so I can put that in and take out all the emission garbage!

Aslo trying to pick up some injectors to go e85 with it.

I'll probably end up putting nitrous on it this winter if I can get it in the garage or early spring once it warms up a bit and garage space isn't at a premium.

Also will get a shift box this winter when the new version comes out with adjustable shift points.

Also little goodies as I find good deals on stuff. I miss the cheap prices of dsm parts compared to evo stuff

Re: Beater 2g Round 2

Finally got a chance to pull my car in the garage to tinker with it a bit.

Got dsmlink installed and pulled out the safc that was in there.

Next pulled out the charcoal canister, egr and most of the "extra" stuff on the fire wall.

Then realized I needed to make an egr block off plate, so made one out of some scrap metal around the garage.

The start of it

The end before sanding the backside smooth to get a good seal

Ended up using the two bolts that mounted the charcoal canister to the frame to bolt down the egr block off place. Yay for free stuff

Now just need to find a good deal on injectors and a wheel/slick setup.
