2007 Lotus Exige S

A couple weeks ago I bought a 2007 Lotus Exige S from a guy in Pennsylvania, and it arrived in Iowa about a week ago. The current owner didn't drive it more than 100 miles in the past year, so it needs some tune up maintenance. I was going to bring it up on the cruise but about 30 miles from home it started to misfire, it felt and sounded like a spark plug or coil went bad, but I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. It has been mostly converted to a stripped track car so I got it on the cheap, it just needs some TLC to be more daily driveable.

The car has 8600 miles, and performance modifications include:
Moroso baffled oil pan
Aluminum flywheel
Smaller SC pulley
Charlie X ECU
Cup Car air cleaner
Pro Alloy Race Tank (baffled and 14 gallons instead of standard 10.5)
Bosch 044 fuel pump and adj. regulator
Momo steering wheel
TR Motorsports F1 wheels - 16" and 17" (10.5 lbs front, 12 lbs rear)
Lexan windshield

There is no carpet in the cabin or trunk, no radio, no speakers, and the plastic trim behind the seats has been removed, leaving pretty much a metal shell in the car and trunk. My plan is to install dynamat under and behind the seats, and then cover it in black carpet as well as make some floormats. The center console also doesn't have a shifter boot and has been cut off in front of the e-brake, so i'm going to replace it with a new OEM one. I plan to install a radio with flip out screen and attach a rearview camera (no rearview mirror, hard to backup). And lastly, I'm going to be installing an OEM harness bar and 5 point belts, the seats are already cut for the submarine belt.

Here are a few pics, the car was super dirty and probably hadn't been washed in over a year. After a couple washes, scrubbing off the tar, claybar, paint cleaner/polish, and wax, it looks a lot better and the red looks a lot darker. I'll get some after polish pics when I get home on Sunday. For appearance mods the only thing I have planned for now is painting the wheels all black and window tint.

New center console, will probably paint black:

Right at the top of my Must Own Someday car list, nice pickup! Mind if I ask how much you got it for? I am all over the map for getting my next car, was set on a 996tt but learning more I don't like their AWD setup and the 997tt are still $60k+. I am looking at a winter vehicle and something fun in he summer now. Keep us posted on what you think of it!

Re: 2007 Lotus Exige S

Very nice. Several guys in our local Lotus club have the Elise and Exige's and love them. They really are a street legal race car. You should have a lot of fun with that, sadly I'll be leaving the Lotus fold for a while as the new owner of my Esprit is picking it up. Have to start saving for a V8 Esprit instead.

Very nice.

Sounds like you are trying to make a race car more of a street car though.

You have to let us know how u like this compared to the vette, but that things looks awesome and fun just sitting there, kinda like a hot slut.

Are you going to shave the hood? I think it makes it look 10x sexier now that you showed us that pic.

What are you thinking for power mods or keeping it the way it is?

Wish you could have brought it up, I can't wait to see it in action. I guess that means I'll have to come to more Marshalltown events next year.
