Timing belt help.

So I picked up a 96 TSI that I am doing the timing belt in. I was going to order a kit from JNZ tuning, but they show 2 different kits. One for 1/94-8/95, and one for 8/95-4/99.

My car was produced 8/95...so that puts me right in the middle of the cutoff. I know the only thing thats different is the tensioner. My problem is, I dont have a spot that I can tear the car down to see what tensioner I have. I wont be able to get it into my work shop till I have all the parts.

Does anybody know or have an idea of which kit I should get or know how I can find out which week my car was produced?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't remember for sure but I think you can get a view of it through the wheel well.

Re: Timing belt help.

Not with the timing cover you can't.

Is there any other differentiators for that cutoff? I'm not familiar with the 2g stuff like the 1g's.

I'd tell them you need both tensioners but will be returning one unused, they should be able to do that.
