Interested in a low mile car?

http://www.carsoup.com/used/detail.a...DealerGroupID=

Ran by this while surfing in class. Might try to talk him down on price.

Thought others might be interested in a mint condition car as well.

I saw that on carsoup awhile ago too. Might not be too bad to look into if you could get the price down.

Re: Interested in a low mile car?

I know, carsoup is kinda dumb like that.

I figured someone on here, maybe even one of the businesses might want a good condition, rust free parts car or future race car.

If i had the money, i'd get it.

Why would you part out a perfectly good low mileage car? I just don't get the part out mentality among DSMr's.

Funny thing is that if he brings it to the auction, it'll probably bring that much there as well. Those things turned to gold 2-3 years ago.

No kidding, this is the one DSM that shouldn't be parted-out!

Re: Interested in a low mile car?

I would think $3000 tops, with that low of miles there are going to be a lot of little problems with seals gaskets and belts going bad for no reason. And look here http://www.carsoup.com/services/auto...542&siteID=901
With only one owner I do not see why it would have 28 records on the title?

Yeah right. I'd pay more than that for a clean low mileage example. But not this one, it's got a salvage title as of 8/23 of this year. Now it's worth less than $3000.

Come on old man, parting out good cars is the cool thing to do. Had I not bought my Laser, I'm sure someone would have parted it out.

Nice car for the year! You'd think that it would have sold already. I guess the price is set a little steep though.

Re: Interested in a low mile car?

Did nobody read my first post? I called on it back in Sept and never got a response to the voicemail I left; from that I would assume it means the car was already sold at that point. I'm sure the people are just too lazy to take down the ad. With the salavage title as of this Aug its a bit shady too.

I'm pretty sure you have to renew carsoup ads on a semi-regular basis to keep them going. Something like every 2 or 4 weeks.

Re: Interested in a low mile car?

While we are on the same note, I also ran by a red 91 that is the cleanest looking dsm I have ever seen. Even the engine bay looks spotless and like it just rolled off the assembly line. Wanted to know what everyone thought about it.

It is a Second owner car, TSi trim level (cloth interior), 2.0L Turbo, All Wheel Drive (AWD), 5-speed manual transmission. All receipts and records since new, along with original window sticker. Serviced at local Mitsubishi dealership. Transfer case recall fix performed recently as well. Oil changed religiously every 3,500mi with Mobil 1 Full Synthetic using OEM Mitsubishi filters, always turbo-timed at shutoff, and only used 93 octane fuel. BG Synchroshift / GM Synchromesh transmission fluid used in transmission.

*upgrades*

Replaced stock turbo approx 1yr ago with new "Evo III" Big 16G model. Replaced stock manifold with new "Evo III" hi-flow manifold as well. 2.5" Archer Racing (Borla) Stainless Steel downpipe, Hi-flow cat, and 3" Thermal R&D Stainless Steel exhaust. Hallman Manual Boost Controller, K&N cone filter, 2.5" Upper Intercooler Pipe and throttle body elbow, Autometer Carbon Fiber Boost and A/F ratio gauges, Blitz FATT DC Turbo Timer. ACT2100 clutch and pressure plate, OEM throwout bearing. KYB AGX adjustable shocks front and rear, H&R Sport Springs, front strut tower brace, RAxles front CV axles.

*new / replaced items*

Timing belt/water pump changed at 141kmi. Tires are Nokian WR A/S in stock 205/55-16 size, @ 50% tread. New battery and new OEM alternator, new OEM radiator, new cooling system hoses, new OEM ignition coil, new OEM plug wires, new NGK plugs, replaced ECU, head rebuild performed by dealer recently, new OEM brake lines and proportioning valve, new gas tank, new OEM fuel pump assembly and sending unit, new OEM clutch slave cylinder, new windshield.

*the bad*

150,000 miles, Car has been sitting for close to a year. Original 1991 paint. R-12 A/C works, system has no known leaks, but needs refill of refrigerant or R-134a conversion. There is a small dent in front passenger fender from blind driver in a parking lot.

He is looking for $3,500 and could possibly already be sold, was pending a sale on 11/20.

I agree, high price but at the same time but an ultra clean 1g there for the pickins. That is one clean 1g. Like S2kraka said, he tried calling and never got a response. Must be a fake.

Either way, welcome Ryan, use this site to its full potential. You will find a lot of info here. Much more than MNSC.
