Re: Who has the Evo X so far?

yeah he was actually pretty knowledgable, he know what turbo it was, what engine it was, knew about dsms. I quizzed him well, little azn guy. He is responcible for buying and selling all of the Evos at that dealership. Cool guy.

Hopefully HKS will release a VPC for it.

I want to see if the evo x ecu has more tuning ability then the previous evos once cracked.

So yeah I don't read EvoM much, is there any breaking news on the HKS tuning solution?

I'm really interested because i'd like to be able to go standalone and not piggyback if possible.

My goal before spring dyno day is to finish up my exhaust and hopefully lean out my 10:1 AF/R a bit.

What abilities are the old ones lacking? You know people are making huge, reliable power on the stock MAS and ECU now, right?

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?

The stock Evo 8/9 ECU is getting to be very versatile, its not a standalone but close enough for 95% of people.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?

Went back to the dealership last night and took some pictures. sorry they are kinda crappy quality. But i really like the aero package that they have, kinda reminds me of a Skyline GTR.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?

Does anyone make a "chip" for the 4g? Since its NA.. there isnt really a point to doing a standalone, unless that is the only tuning option. Still doesnt take away the fact its fwd. :P

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?

It's a CANBUS ECU, so no. The only time anyone has really tried to do anything with it was when RRE made their Ralliart 4G, and they said fuck it and turned an EVO ecu into a piggyback to control engin management while the 4G ECU still kept duties of the CANBUS shit.

Now that the EVO uses the same type of ECU though, it being cracked will lead to the 4G ECU being cracked.

Meaning i'm glad I waited on buying a piggy back solution.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?

Did they crack the V6 3G ECUs? I know the NA 4 cylinder stuff was always very similar to the turbos.

Re: Who has the Evo X so far?
