The .577 is really to be used as a "Stopper". It's for stopping a charging rhino. You don't need something like that for an elephant. Some folks even use .375 H&H for elephant. Most times you see the T-Rex, it's without muzzle brake or buttpad and is throwing a dirka around a rifle range. You would NEVER hunt with a primary that has no muzzle brake or buttpad. It's just kept around a range to shut up the big talkers.
