Lol, all this arguing is pointless, but it sure is entertaining! Both sides just point fingers, argue their points which you already know full well won't change the other persons point of view. Yet it goes on and on. Good stuff!

Re: Fiscal cliff...

Vicious' post does make sense if you think about it though and look past the conspiracy craziness.

What needs to happen to dig the US out of the economic hole we are in?

-Make more money (Bring more in)
-Spend less money (Give less out)

If you create more jobs, it is creating more income tax revenue (more people paying taxes rather than the same amount of people all paying more) AND getting more people off of handouts.

There does seem to be one giant thing in common with 99% of Obama supporters though, they love free shit and they know who will get it for them. Not one person here can deny that.

And since I FUCKING LOVE STEREOTYPES:

Now where the fuck is my free phone?

I can honestly say that not one TV ad, post on a forum, or Op-Ed has ever swayed my view one way or the other. That being said, yes, its entertaining.

End the tax cuts - make more money.
Give out less - ain't gonna happen under this administration.

Re: Fiscal cliff...

Well, not a horrible resolution to the fiscal cliff. Social security gets some much needed help and taxes will go up slightly. I honestly was ok with taxes going up a bit more, but it is a step in the right direction.

Next up is the debt ceiling which will come to a head in 2 months. This looks to be good leverage for the republicans so look to see some major spending cuts. They certainly don't appear to be working together, but they are getting us closer to where we need to be. We have to increase taxes and lower spending to stop the deficit. It is already at a ridiculous amount and we have to do everything we can to slow down the spending and eventually start gaining ground and paying it back.

Re: Fiscal cliff...

How can $1 of spending cuts for every $42 of new taxes be good? Really?

Re: Fiscal cliff...

If you would have read my post you would see that the spending cuts are expected to come in the next confrontation.

Re: Fiscal cliff...

I read your post. Don't expect anything dramatic to happen in two months.

Re: Fiscal cliff...

It's a start, and if it helps to get our debt clock spinning the other way then I can't complain too much. Hopefully spending reductions aren't too far around the corner as well.

Re: Fiscal cliff...

Yeah, I don't expect it to be fixed this year, but steps in the right direction would be great. We have to slow the bleeding before we can stop it.
