My new ride
Well, I just bought a little winter project for myself. It's a Honda, It's a 4 cyl, and it's RWD. It needs a little work, but I picked it up for a song. With a little Can-Do attitude it should be ready for spring.
It was kind of an impulse buy, but if I wouldn't have snatched it up right away, it probably would have been gone within a few hours. I'll have some pictures after I pick it up sometime this week.

Re: My new ride
Oops, I forgot to mention what I bought. It's a 1981 Honda CB750.

Get use some pics of the rear drivetrain, too. I think it would be cool to see.

Re: My new ride
Here's the ebay pics. The first thing that's coming off when I get home is the front fairing, I think it looks hideous. Then I'm taking off the backrest and luggage rack. That should clean it up quite a bit.
This bike should be pretty good for getting around town and saving gas on everyday trips. Long term, I'd like to find an old '74-'76 Suzuki RE5 and restore it. Those things have a 500cc (or 1000cc depending on how you count the displacement) rotary engine in it. They sound bad ass, and talk about having an rare classic. That's probably a few years off though, unless I find a good deal on one.
Anyway, here's the pics.
This is a different bike, but it's the same year and color without the fairing and luggage rack. That's what it will look like when I get it home.

Re: My new ride
Bikes are fun but I need to get rid of my F4 since I don't really have time to ride it.

Me- "I don't think you would stand a chance."
Cop says "probably not" and drives off.

Re: My new ride
There was an old one next door to my old house that I thought would be fun to restore. That seventies look was pretty cool, although I would've had to put a decent size tire on the rear. They were tiny back then.

My grandpa has 3 of them... 2 - 75's and a 76 I believe. They are cool bikes. He also has a 1941 indian all original with sidecar, a couple 82 CBX's w/ inline 6 cyl engines, a Turbo Honda 650 and a Turbo Yamaha 550.
I was born into a family that loves motorcycles.
My dad also has a Honda 900 custom. Looks pretty damn identical to your bike. Nice find!

Are you sure you don't like it? I'm sure there's a way we can graft it on to the front of your car.
I'm getting pumped to go pick this thing up. I'm going down there on Thursday night, and I'll have a nice long weekend to work on it. I don't think I'll get it running this weekend, but I'll get a good start on it. We have an ultrasonic parts washer at work, so if I get some rebuild kits, taking care of the carbs should be pretty easy and I will probably save a couple hundred bucks doing it myself. I just have to get them adjusted properly when it's back together. I'll have it running good before the snow falls.

Re: My new ride
Got 'er torn down to the frame and motor. There's some surface rust on the frame that I'm going to touch up, but I wont worry about it too much right now. If I really like riding this thing and want to keep it for a while, I might take it down to the frame and bead blast it and have it powder coated. But that's a winter project. For now I just want to get it running. I might end up getting a new gas tank, but we'll see once I take a closer look at this one. It's a little rusty.
I power washed the whole thing and started polishing all the bits and pieces. I'll work on doing that this week while I wait for a few parts so I can start putting back together. Depending on the tank situation I might have it running in a couple weeks, and it will be like a brand new bike. (well, almost)
Here's a few pics.
