Thanks for the advice. I'm going to polish the shoe surface and experiment. Do you know what the radius is for your die? My benders die radius is very small at 5 and Im sure it adds to the problem. I see the JD2s have a 6.5. I don't have plans to make it hydraulic, unless I start getting sick of ratcheting.
